Why is Bill the Center of Your Universe?
Diagnosed with pancreatic Cancer in 2018, I thought my life was done but Bill encouraged me that we’d do this, together one day at a time. He was with me as my husband, my best friend and my caregiver no matter what the day held for me. (And trust me, the days were long and they were hard. I know it was a rollercoaster ride of life’s worst and best moments.)His co-workers donated some of their own vacation time to him as he’d done in years past for others. Even though he was with me in the hospital at chemo treatments or during my Whipple surgery, he worked. He kept the foundation solid so I didn’t have to worry. I know how hard he worked as I remember waking in the middle of the night and he was on his computer taking care of his work.) On top of that, he made sure the dogs and chickens were ok and meanwhile I was able to focus on my treatments, and nothing more. He gave me such peace of mind.
For 6 months I was in the hospital more than I was at home. He was with me no matter what happened. I never had to make an appointment or worry with what Dr. to call or to see. He managed my care both physically and mentally.
Married for 20 years, I fell in love with him all over again. I’m so grateful to God for putting him in my life for such a time as this. He is my hero and incredibly I am now cancer free!
This experience has opened my eyes to what love means and I will use it to love others because of his example to me. He made so many sacrifices over this last year and I can never tell him “thank you” enough. He is my hero and he has my heart, all over again.
